ENTRAINMENT
I’ve been contemplating and learning about the quantum physics principle of ENTRAINMENT … and I love the paintings that are coming …
One definition of “Entrainment” is “the process whereby two interacting oscillating systems, which have different periods when they function independently, assume the same period.” To cut a complex explanation simple, what it means is this: When 2 particles of different wave lengths meet and interact, it is found that the particle with the lower wave length begins to change its wave frequency to match that of the other particle.
In a sense, it upgrades itself. It’s called Entrainment in physics. In spirituality, it’s called vibration increase.
How beautiful it is to understand that nature’s innate desire is for harmony … that the pull toward synchronicity is one of the founding principles of the natural world …
HOPE PAINTINGS

TIME SERIES
The TIME series centers on meditation and reflection on the choices we make, their consequences and how fate and time intersect with these decisions ... how the smallest choice reverberates into the future’s DNA ... and how much hope there is in knowing that.

The Time Series is available as one work: a polyptych of 10 custom framed canvases.
IGNEOUS SERIES
Inspired while contemplating igneous rock and a devastated heart ...
Igneous rock is formed by the cooling and solidifying of molten material… the word is derived from the Latin, Ignis, meaning fire…
Another description I found is, “extremely hot molten rock from the deep recesses of the earth make its way out and ignites everything it comes into contact with… once the liquid cools down, an igneous rock is formed….
I am reminded of the ever present beauty of a magnificent heart … even when the heat of devastation has melted away what was … and it can never be the same ... in time, when the acute anguish cools … and when the choice for freedom is found … then the pain will not be wasted … something new will form … strong and stable and crystallized … transcendent of fire and heat …
THE ART OF MISCHIEF
The seven pieces I painted for the “The Art of Mischief” series are the result of a wonderful collaboration with artist, Philip Carrera. Philip beautifully illustrated 20 stories which he collected from around the globe, each of which contains a mischief maker character. We chose seven of those stories to feature on opening night of the exhibit and I created an abstract painting inspired by an element of each story. We hung the art works for each story side-by-side (illustrations by Philip Carrera and abstracts by Cynthia Johnson) where they performed as temporary background while a portion of each tale was performed LIVE! by a group of very talented actors. The script, written by Alexus Rhone, the illustrations, the abstracts and the performances all served to illuminate facets of the truths found in stories which survive passing time and evolving cultures and remain relevant to us all.
